Nestlé Professional commits to 2017 salt reduction Pledge

The latest initiative from the Department of Health sets new targets for salt reduction across 76 specific food categories to be met by 2017.  By signing up to the pledge, companies are committing to support and enable consumers in reducing their salt intake to a maximum level of 6g a day for adults, as recommended by the Scientific Advisory Commission on Nutrition (SACN). Nestlé Professional is one of the first major foodservice companies to sign up to the new pledge, which will replace the old F2 pledge.

The Team Velo Challenge will see teams of four, cycle from the Pullman Hotel London to the Pullman Hotel Paris, setting off on 18 September. Teams are encouraged to take the journey at their own pace, however the first to arrive in the French capital will be crowned the winners.

The ‘Make Every Cup Count’ campaign sees Bidvest 3663 partnering with Kenco Coffee in a first for the foodservice industry, where for every cup of Kenco coffee bought, a glass of clean water will be donated to South American communities. Through this initiative, Bidvest 3663 aims to donate 110 million glasses by the end of the year.
