Catermasters appoints operations manager

She will be responsible for retaining and developing Catermasters’ business in the South East region. Edwards joins the Leamington Spa-based company from Holroyd Howe. She has also worked for Baxter Storey and Sodexo. She trained as a chef at the beginning of her career and it is her love of food that has prompted her to join Catermasters.

Centreplate wins three year catering contract at Sunderland International Airshow

Now in its 26th year, the event which was established in 1988, attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors over the course of the weekend. Centerplate’s appointment by the airshow’s organisers, Sunderland Live, follows a competitive tender for the catering contract which is expected to generate a turnover in excess of £1.5 million during the three year deal.

Bunzl Lockhart Catering Equipment secures deal with Pret A Manger and MOD

The business will supply a range of light catering equipment and bespoke lines to all 270 of the Pret A Manger sites in the UK, and are also in talks to service sites in Europe. Pret A Manager required a supplier who could reduce their overall light equipment spend, without impacting on their exemplary service levels. Lockhart secured the contract from the incumbent supplier having demonstrated an excellent infrastructure system, flexibility in meeting the brief and a keen eye for product innovation.

Niccola, managing director of Panache Consultancy, was recognised with the award for her role chairman of FCSI UK & Ireland and long-term commitment to the industry. She is among 18 foodservice professionals to receive the honour this year. Nick Oryino, chair of CESA, commented: “They are the drivers, the movers, the shakers, the people who make it happen. The feat, which was undertaken to highlight the new range of Burco Manual and Auto Fill boilers, saw a team of 12 employees make a massive 1608 cups of tea in just one hour, to break the previous record, held by Devonshire tea, by 883 cups. The team used a total of nine British-manufactured Burco manual fill boilers across three serving stations to make three different varieties of Taylors of Harrogate tea (Yorkshire Tea, Afternoon Darjeeling & Irish Breakfast).
