Caterer Vacherin appoints CSR expert

Tam, originally from Canada, has joined Vacherin from Business in the Community and prior to that, environmental action group, Greenpeace International.  Her new role will see her develop the company’s CSR and sustainability initiatives to the next level, supporting clients and managers with expert advice in the process, and manage Vacherin’s quality systems, ISO 9001 and 14001.

Following the successful handover to the new management team, Apostrophe’s CEO, Amir Chen, will now be departing from the business. CH&Co had initially entered into joint venture with Apostrophe in January 2012, before buying the business outright from Amir Chen and the founding shareholders earlier this year. Franks previously worked at EAT during a period of rapid business growth and was most recently at the Harris & Hoole coffee chain that has also enjoyed recent rapid expansion and now operates from more than 40 outlets across South East England.

BPEX Foodservice Pork Sausage of the Year Competition 2014 gets underway

As the countdown to British Sausage Week 2014 (3-9 November) gets underway, BPEX is calling for catering butchers and sausage manufacturers to enter their pork sausages into the BPEX Foodservice Pork Sausage of the Year Competition 2014. The annual competition showcases the range of quality assured and Red Tractor pork sausages available today and recognises and rewards sausages dished up in pubs, restaurants and hotels across the country. It is open to all sausage makers who supply the catering sector, as well as chefs who make sausages for sale on the premises.
