Abstract
The dates have been set for the seventeenth annual British Sausage Week, seven-days designed to offer caterers working in everything from pubs and restaurants to hospitals, schools and the MoD a platform for to raise awareness of quality assured sausages and benefit from increased sales.

Plans include a high profile PR campaign fronted by a British Sausage Week celebrity – yet to be named – plus the ‘Banger Awards’ and the availability of supporting point-of-sale promotional material.

BPEX foodservice trade manager Tony Goodger, said: “With hundreds of sausage varieties available, we really are a nation of sausage lovers.

“The Week provides a fantastic opportunity for the whole industry to get involved and raise awareness of quality sausages, including those produced using Red Tractor pork.

“It is never too early to start planning and looking at ways your business can benefit. Creating new varieties, introducing timely promotions or holding charity events are just some of the ways in which to get involved and boost sales.

“So if you supply or sell great sausages make a date for British Sausage Week and use it to your advantage.”
