Hosted by TV presenter Mark Durden-Smith, the afternoon was filled with tales from a range of sports personalities including Derek Redmond, Bobby George, John Conteh, Bob Champion, Matthew Hoggard MBE and Willie Thorne. The funds were raised via a number of fundraising activities including the live auction hosted by Willie Thorne. Star lots included a three-course dinner with house wine at Tom Kerridge’s two Michelin starred Hand and Flowers for two people, including an overnight stay and A Tour Package to the Masters 2015 in Augusta, USA in April.

The Jarlsberg Special Reserve is a cheese that has been matured for a minimum of 12 months - it still retains its nutty flavour but the maturation process intensifies the flavour and aroma. The brief is open so anything goes, according to the competition organisers. For example, it could be the world’s greatest cheese toastie or it take inspiration from Signe who created a pumpkin stuffed with kale, sage and pearled spelt   The competition closes on Friday 28th November.

With sausages served at more than half a billion out-of-home meal occasions annually and more than 500 sausage varieties available, the BPEX Foodservice Pork Sausage of the Year Competition gives caterers the opportunity to highlight the diverse range of quality assured and Red Tractor sausages available today in foodservice outlets. The final 15 will now go forward to the grand final at Butchers’ Hall on 31 October 2014, where one will be crowned ‘Overall Champion’ – marking the start of British Sausage Week 2014 (3-9 November).

Chen was co-owner and CEO of Apostrophe from 2004 to 2014. He developed Apostrophe into one of London’s leading café brands, operating out of 23 locations across central London high streets, shopping centres, tourist attractions and at Heathrow and Gatwick airports. In 2011, Apostrophe established a joint-venture with award-winning caterer CH&Co., which Chen sold his remaining shares in April 2014. Prior to Apostrophe, Chen was an investment banker with Lehman Brothers in London and New York.
