Hosted by TV presenter Mark Durden-Smith, the afternoon was filled with tales from a range of sports personalities including Derek Redmond, Bobby George, John Conteh, Bob Champion, Matthew Hoggard MBE and Willie Thorne.
The funds were raised via a number of fundraising activities including the live auction hosted by Willie Thorne. Star lots included a three-course dinner with house wine at Tom Kerridge’s two Michelin starred Hand and Flowers for two people, including an overnight stay and A Tour Package to the Masters 2015 in Augusta, USA in April.
Hospitality Action’s chief executive Penny Moore commented: “Our Sporting Legends Luncheon proved to be a fantastic afternoon of entertainment, raising a staggering amount of money for the charity. The line-up of sporting legends combined with the lovely venue, the Jumeirah Carlton Tower, ensured that it was a successful event raising vital funds for the charity which will go a long way in helping those in our industry who need it most. This event will definitely feature on 2015’s event calendar.”
Hospitality Action is also hosting its last event of the year on Monday 1st December - A Star-Filled Christmas Dinner. The event will take place at Brasserie Joël within the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge. The evening will consist of a Champagne and canapé reception followed by a three course meal.
