Lawson will discuss the evolution of Smart Group including the pinnacle of Smart Hospitality’s story to date, winning the tender and delivering the catering for the Olympic Hospitality Centre at the London 2012 games, catering for all top level sponsors and the IOC.
Lawson’s hospitality career spans over 30 years. At age 22 he set up his first restaurant and after branching into outdoor catering he successfully pioneered the idea of putting up a temporary structure and running exclusive and shared Christmas parties with The Christmas Company. On selling the business he started Quantum Leap Events, recently rebranded Smart Group.
He is still very much a caterer at heart, with Smart Group’s catering arm Smart Hospitality very much involved in everything the business does. Smart Hospitality caters at numerous corporate and private event locations across the UK, including a number of large sporting events, such as Ascot, Wimbledon and Twickenham, as well as catering within fixed venues in both London and Manchester.
In addition, Horizons will once again present its regular industry briefing that looks back over 2014 and forward to 2015, spotlighting the highs and lows, key events, emerging trends and the ones to watch.
The Arena Christmas Event starts at 10.30am with the Horizons’ presentation. The event will offer networking opportunities created by the drinks reception and a three-course lunch before Greg Lawson takes to the stage.
