The baristas saw off stiff competition from eight finalists from around the world, with Pavoni winning a prize of £500 and Crozier £300. The overall winner was Louise Olsson from Sweden, whose win was rewarded with a £1,000 prize.

Yes Peas!, Love Your Greens, British Onions and the Sustainable Restaurant Association have joined existing supporters: Red Tractor, Ladies In Beef, EBLEX and BPEX in the quest to get roasts on the menu every day of the week - not just on Sundays - between 30 September and 6 October 2013.

Each of the two areas are very different, in that one is a catering facility for TV and film industry professionals whereas the other is a café which is open to the public.

The awards will celebrate and reward inspiring people, organisations and initiatives – those that work hard to elevate the profile of the industry as an employer and demonstrating an ability to attract and retain talent. The Springboard Awards are simple and free to enter. Participants are required to submit an 800 word or a short video entry. Closing date for entries is 13th September with the award winners announced at a celebration evening on 1st November at the Novotel London West.

Caffè Nero will be opening two units in arrivals and one airside, offering customers several new elements and features. The total size for the three units will be over 11,500 square feet offering over 350 covers, the largest amount of space awarded to a food and beverage brand at Terminal 2.

The OnePoll survey also found that 64% of consumers rated the coffee served in independent and fine dining establishments as excellent or good, compared to only 22% in fast food outlets and just 10% in pubs. When ordering coffee taste outweighs price – 68% of respondents rated quality as a very important or important factor.

The new sustainability rating will now be rolled out to a variety of destinations including shopping centres, airports, stadiums and stations as retailers and restaurants increasingly seek to demonstrate their approach to responsible business. The SRA has been rating individual restaurant businesses on their sustainability credentials for the past three years and a Sustainability Champion rating of up to Three Stars is awarded following assessment across three main areas: Sourcing, Environment and Society.
