The judges selected three of the highest scoring sausages from each of the competition’s five categories. The final 15 will now go forward to the final at Butchers Hall on 25 October 2013, where one will be crowned ‘Overall Champion’. Its Roastery in Dartford, which roasts more than 8,000 tonnes of coffee each year including its Lyons’ Coffee retail brand, maintained the accreditation thanks to its continued commitment to the highest quality and operational standards. The BRC Audit is an annual legal requirement for food manufacturers in the retail industry. An ‘A grade’ rating is the highest quality score awarded for an announced audit.

Wade’s appointment has stemmed from the growth in the number of projects and activities Springboard has underway in Scotland. The appointment is a key role for Springboard to drive and develop its work in Scotland.  Wade joins Springboard from her post as sales and operations manager at The Tennent’s Training Academy in Glasgow. The European Coffee Awards recognise company excellence and individuals who have made the most outstanding contributions within the European coffee shop and food-to-go markets. Designed for 11-14 year old geography students across the UK, Costa for Schools is a free online resource to help students learn more about the coffee trade. Through a number of community case studies and an interactive map, students will learn about the journey of a coffee bean from start to finish.

Sarson has worked in hospitality for his entire career and has held a variety of senior positions in the industry. Prior to joining Compass in January 2004, he had a four-year spell in Hong Kong and China as managing director of Sodexo. Sarson said: “I’m honoured to be representing Hospitality Action. The work that it does in terms of raising awareness of key issues and providing vital support to those in our industry facing hardship through illness, bereavement, poverty or addiction, is invaluable.”

The event is set to welcome more than 400 senior industry leaders at The Pullman Paris Montparnasse across the three days.   According to Allegra Strategies’ Project Cafe12 EU report, the French branded coffee shop market is forecast to grow at more than 10% per annum over the next three years.
