Yes Peas!, Love Your Greens, British Onions and the Sustainable Restaurant Association have joined existing supporters: Red Tractor, Ladies In Beef, EBLEX and BPEX in the quest to get roasts on the menu every day of the week - not just on Sundays - between 30 September and 6 October 2013.
Leon Mills, Knorr category manager for sauces, said: “We couldn’t think of a better group of industry associations to have joined us to help celebrate the mighty roast - which is one of the things that consumers love most about Britain . We know that people want to see roast dinners on menus more often so this week-long celebration is the perfect opportunity for chefs and caterers to maximise profits by serving roasts every day.”
Mark Linehan, managing director of the Sustainable Restaurant Association, added: “Quality roast dinners, made with high welfare meat and locally-sourced vegetables are a great menu option for diners and offer chefs ready-made ingredients for weekday feasts with all the delicious leftovers.”
The endorsers will be spreading the word about the British Roast Dinner Week campaign, as well as helping celebrate the winner of the Best British Roast Dinner competition in October.
