Premier executive chef Mark Rigby, who will be judging entries, said that research shows consumers are more than twice as likely to choose sausages and mash off a menu when it is served with gravy.
British Sausage Week will see chefs and operators across the country showcasing their top sausage recipes in order to impress regulars and entice new customers.
To take part in the Premier competition chefs and caterers must send in their best regional sausage and Bisto recipes. The top seven submissions from across the UK will win an iPad Mini for submitting the most creative dishes.
Rigby said he would be looking for attention to detail, originality and the quality of the overall dish.
He added: “We are proud to be supporting British Sausage Week; it is a great opportunity for caterers to showcase their skills and attract new customers.
“As the current number one consumer choice for gravy, Bisto delivers a taste that customers recognise and love, in and out of home.”
