The winning sarnie is made of roasted mixed vegetables in a homemade pitta bread pocket with Hellmann’s Mayonnaise. After they voted it their favourite, it was taken through to the second stage of the competition and became one of the top 10 recipes for consumers to vote for. Hazel Paige, from Sweet and Savoury in Needham, and Ed Bardos, from Kua’Aina in London, were named runners up for their Carlsberg Special and Lava-Grilled Mahi Mahi Roll sandwiches.
