The new-look website, www.brake.co.uk, includes a number of changes to the design, structure and functionality.  Key changes include clearer text and images and simpler content, improving the overall look and feel of the site and making it easier to navigate. A new product search feature and a ‘Recently Viewed Product’ facility, which displays the user’s last 20 searches, has also been designed to help customers with their purchasing decisions and ensure they stay on top of the latest products and trends.

Taco Bell removes beef products as McDonald’s tests negative for horsemeat

The meat was supplied by an unnamed company in Europe and a spokesperson for Taco Bell said immediate action was taken: “We immediately withdrew it from sale, and discontinued purchase of that meat and contacted the Food Standards Agency with this information. We apologise to our customers and take this matter very seriously as food quality is our highest priority.” The news comes as fast-food giant McDonald’s confirmed its products were clear of any horse meat contamination.

More than 40 representatives from a wide variety of leading organisations in the UK coffee industry attended a steering committee meeting in central London last week, organised by the Allegra Foundation, to coordinate industry wide plans for UK Coffee Week and to explore innovative ways to maximise fundraising totals for Project Waterfall. The meeting was a great success and generated many new fundraising ideas.

Huhtamaki wins Bunzl Supplier of the Year award

Huhtamaki has been honoured to win the coveted award twice in four years. The Bunzl Conference and Awards took place in February and recognises the dedication of its staff and suppliers and rewards excellent service. The theme of this year’s awards, which were held in Old Windsor, was “Stronger Together”. In line with the theme guests enjoyed a Medieval Banquet and dressed up in costume for the occasion.
