First cafe at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park to be named Unity Kitchen Cafe

The first café on Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park will be operated by the Camden Society and named Unity Kitchen Café. It will be one of four permanent cafes and four permanent kiosks across the 560 acre site and will be the first to open in July. Alongside the Café there are two community rooms, which will be run by Community Links.

The People 1st Training Company is launching WorldHost Insights, an interactive e-learning course designed to help staff in small companies who want to deliver excellent customer service. WorldHost Insights is a flexible, online training course which takes up to an hour and a half to complete. It is designed to help staff who have never been trained in customer service and those who want to refresh their skills.

In his new role as Just Falafel’s CEO for the UK and Ireland, Biggins will oversee Just Falafel’s stores in Covent Garden, Baker Street and Hammersmith Broadway, while developing new sites in Charing Cross and Croydon as well as Cambridge.  

Costa Coffee sales surpass the £2 billion mark as Whitbread profits grow 11%

Group revenue was up 14% to £2.03 billion and pre-tax profits up 11% to £357 million. The Hotels and Restaurants division made a profit of £313 million, largely driven by Premier Inn and the success of London’s Olympic and Paralympic Games last summer. Whitbread’s flagship brand Costa announced profits surpassing £90 million up a staggering 29% and the popular coffee chain is on course to double its sales to £2 billion by 2018.
