To mark the third year of this partnership and encourage a record-breaking number of participants, actress and TV presenter Claire Sweeney has teamed up with Kenco Professional to ask the UK to ‘Wake up and Smell the Coffee’.
She held her own Macmillan coffee morning in Mornington Terrace, London on Wednesday at which she asked people to register for this year’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.
She said: “It’s an honour to be working alongside Kenco and Macmillan Cancer Support, a charity close to my heart, to help raise valuable funds for this worthy cause.
“The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning is a great chance to have fun and get together with friends, family or colleagues to share a cup of coffee. So go on, wake up and smell the coffee.”
Jodie Bates, marketing manager for Kenco Professional, said: “At Kenco Professional we’re passionate about making a positive difference with every cup, so we’re delighted to be able to partner with Macmillan Cancer Support for the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.
“By raising awareness and donating quality coffee to thousands of coffee mornings in the UK, we’re hoping to make it easier for more people to get involved and to add a little bit more flavour to the experience.”
Charles Byrne, head of partnerships at Macmillan Cancer Support added: “The World's Biggest Coffee Morning is our annual flagship fundraising event, which Kenco has been an invaluable supporter of for the last three years.
“Last year 51,000 registered to hold a coffee morning, raising a record £10.8m and we’re hoping that with the help of Kenco and Claire Sweeney, we can beat that figure this year.”
The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning encourages friends, family and colleagues to get together to enjoy a coffee and a slice of cake and help raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.
