Free school meals (FSM) play a vital role in tackling child food insecurity.

Barley Close Community Primary School in Mangotsfield, Bristol and Melbourne Primary School in Melbourne, York scooped the prizes following nearly 200 entries from schools across the country.

All primary schoolchildren and more than 6,000 nursery-age pupils attending a maintained school will be eligible for free meals by September 2024.
