On Wednesday, November 28th at 2pm at the NEC, Birmingham, some of the biggest names from the world of food including Angela Hartnett, Valentine Warner, Arthur Potts Dawson, Charles Campion and BBC Countryfile's Adam Henson will all join Sheila Dillon, presenter of Radio 4's The Food Programme for the award ceremony.
Chef Raymond Blanc will also be appearing on stage at the Awards – as well as other major figures from the worlds of food and drink.
One of the highlights will be the awarding of the Derek Cooper Award (named after The Food Programme's first presenter), a title won in previous years by Hugh Fearnly-Whittingstall and Jamie Oliver.
Members of the public are welcome to attend the Awards ceremony, held as part of the BBC Good Food Show, at the NEC, Birmingham, and audience members will be able to hear the stories behind some of the country’s best food producers, drinks producers, best takeaway/street food, farmer of the year, best food market, best local retailer, best public caterer and big food idea.
The event is recorded and will be used for a special Food and Farming Awards programme to be broadcast shortly after the awards ceremony on BBC Radio 4.
