Ducker has served as an executive councillor and trustee of the IoH since 2010. He is currently executive director of the Hotel Booking Agents Association (HBAA); chairman of the Hotel Carbon Index (Carepar); and a consultant to the hotel industry through his own vehicle Roundpeg Resources.
Rossiter has been IoH chief executive since 2002.
Ducker said: “I have been a member of the Institute of Hospitality throughout my career and I strongly believe in the importance of good education and continuous professional development to attract and retain the quality of management that the hospitality industry requires today.
“I am honoured to succeed Philippe as its chief executive and look forward to steering the institute through a new chapter in its history.”
Ducker is a graduate of Oxford Polytechnic (Oxford Brookes University). His career has experience in hotel sales, marketing and distribution and he has held directorships at a number of hospitality companies (Sarova Hotels; President Entertainments; London Park Hotels) and distribution and sales operations (Resotel Limited).
In both 2010 and 2011 he was voted in the top 50 “most influential people in the meetings and events industry” by the readers of C&IT Magazine. He is married with two grown-up daughters.
Outgoing chief executive Philippe Rossiter commented: “We are delighted to welcome Peter into his new role. With his broad industry experience and his particular expertise in sales, marketing and management, Peter is well-positioned to take the Institute forward.”
