Unilever, Coca-Cola Enterprises and United Biscuits are just some of the big names to scoop an accolade at this year's Food and Drink Federation (FDF) Community Partnership Awards.
The awards, which took place at the Institute of Directors in London, reward the contributions and dedication shown by organisations throughout the food chain for making a positive difference in their local and business communities.
A total of 23 awards were presented by Jim Paice MP, Minister of State for agriculture and food, presented at a lunch at the Institute of Directors in London.
General Mills won the Local Community category; Unilever triumphed in the Workplace Wellbeing category and Coca–Cola Enterprises won the Education category.
Meanwhile in the Environment category, gold awards were presented to United Biscuits and The Authentic Food Company, while the Findus Group received a special award for its sourcing policies.
And United Biscuits is the first receive the FDF President's Award – introduced this year to acknowledge the best overall company or initiative from the Gold winners.
Julian Hunt, FDF director of communications, said: "Our Awards celebrate some of the inspirational ways in which food companies work within their communities. These companies are rightly proud of the links they have forged, often over many years, and the big impact their efforts are having on society. Our Awards help both to showcase their efforts and to reward their commitment."
