Under a one-year contract worth £235K in annual turnover, the first part of the contract started on 5th September, with Wilson Vale feeding approximately 150 apprentices and 100 training delegates and staff each day at the organisation’s Technology Training Centre at Nexus Point in Aston.
Services include a breakfast, lunch and a grab & go service for the apprentices, as well as a restaurant service for training delegates. The 50,000 sq. ft. facility provides over 50 technical training courses on the use of 120 machines and equipment commonly found in manufacturing and engineering environments.
The second site – EEF’s new Technology Hub in Aston – opened in November 2016, with Wilson Vale now servicing a dedicated conferencing suite and three meeting rooms within the new hub, as well as providing additional breakfast and lunch services to the apprentices.
Andrew Wilson, co-founder of Wilson Vale, said:” “Now that the new building has opened, we have an opportunity to support the conferencing side of the operation and we look forward to supporting our new client’s growth within this sector throughout 2017. We are delighted that EEF has placed its trust and faith in us to develop catering at this important hub of nurturing, training and development of young engineers.”
Neil Withey, director of training at EEF, added: “We have invested significantly in creating world-class training facilities in the heartland of UK manufacturing. It is important that these high standards are maintained in every aspect of what we do, including the catering enjoyed by our staff, delegates and apprentices.
“An army marches on its stomach and the same is true of the highly skilled and motivated engineers and manufacturers of the future we are training here.”
