Tom will host a keynote session titled ’39 ways to save the planet’ on Thursday 6 July 2022 at 9.45am. The session emerged from a determination to celebrate the successes in our fight against climate change.
Following his keynote speech he will host the Sustainable School Kitchen panel discussion. Four panellists will discuss the school food sectors role in the UK’s journey towards net zero - what can realistically be achieved and by when?
The panel includes LACA chair Jacquie Blake, Forest Green FC chairman Dale Vince, Elanor Morris from WRAP and Jack Ward chief executive of the British Growers Association.
As the School Food Sector starts to ‘get back on track’, this year’s Main Event will take a look at the future of our service with in-depth sessions on sustainability and technology.
Delegates will also be able to pick up their FREE copy of the brand new LACA plant-based school food recipe book. LACA has 1,000 printed copies to give away at the event this July - attending the event in person is the only way to get a hard copy for your kitchen.
Also at the LACA Main Event:
- Workshop Sessions and the LACA Live cooking demos
- The final of the School Chef of the Year (SCOTY) takes place, with the 2022 winner announced at the Awards for Excellence Gala Dinner in the evening of 7 July
- The Finishing Touches salon culinaire provides a showcase for the skills school chefs have but don’t always get a chance to use when preparing school meals
- The School Food Exhibition brings together under one roof the largest collection of food, drink, equipment and software suppliers with products dedicated to the education sector - Register for free entry to the exhibition
Taking place over three days, the Main Event includes a packed speaker programme, live demonstrations and free to attend, interactive workshops. Early Bird discount for LACA members is available to those booking before 31 May 2022. To book visit here.
