Abstract
The Tiger Beer Singapore Chilli Crab Festival is returning to the capital later this month, packed with demonstrations, live entertainment, and market stalls offering a wide selection of Singaporean cuisine.
The festival, kicking off at London's Truman Brewery in Brick Lane from 30 to 31 August, will be presenting plenty of Chilli Crab to sample including Chicken Satay, Char Kway Teow, and Hainanese Chicken Rice. All of the food will be prepared by Bayswater based Singaporean restaurant Kiasu. Other highlights of the event include celebrity chef Terry Tan, who will be holding live cooking demonstrations at the festival throughout the weekend. He will be taking visitors through the process of cooking Far Eastern food and giving tips and advice on cooking the dishes at home. A selection of market stalls will also be staged at the event offering authentic food produce and intricate arts and crafts. Steven Greaves, from Tiger Beer, said: "It's a great way for people to experience Singapore culture and, of course, take the opportunity to enjoy a perfectly chilled Tiger Beer on a hot summer's afternoon – and ideal accompaniment to the spicy chilli crab." Live entertainment will include dragon dancing, martial art displays and musicians from the School of Oriental and African Studies.
