2nd Sep 2009 - 00:00
Abstract
Chefs from Scotland and Ireland will be putting their skills to the test at the Welsh International Culinary Championships at Coleg Llandrillo Cymru, Rhos-on-Sea, from February 16-18, 2010.
Welsh Culinary Association (WCA) chairman Peter Jackson is awaiting confirmation of the two international teams that will go head to head with the Welsh National Culinary Team in the heat of the kitchen. The Battle for the Dragon contest is one of the showpiece events at the championships, which are organised by the WCA and sponsored by the Welsh Assembly Government and Hybu Cig Cymru/ Meat Promotion Wales. In the other showpiece event at the championships, four chefs will put their culinary skills to the test in the National Chef of Wales final on February 16. The finalists will be selected at regional heats to be hosted by Coleg Ystrad Mynach and Coleg Menai, Bangor. Application forms for the competition will be available in the autumn. Previous winners of the contest, introduced in 2006, were Germany, Wales and Sweden.
