Schools to benefit from new British Lion eggs website

3rd Aug 2009 - 00:00
Abstract
Caterers, teachers and students now have online access to in-depth information on healthy and nutritional eggs following today’s re-launch of British Lion eggs’ website, www.britegg.co.uk.
Others to benefit from the new site include consumers, retailers and health professionals. The new design is based on a 'hub' format, linking nine previously independent sites to one main menu and allowing users to find information on everything egg-related. The new site contains up-to-date research, statistics and information about the British egg industry along with a FAQ section to answer common questions including "Where should eggs be stored?" and "How can I tell if my egg is fresh?" Consumers will also have access to more than 200 recipes, step-by-step cooking videos, detailed information on the Lion mark and food safety and the latest news on eggs, nutrition and health - including an interview with Dr Hilary Jones dispelling the myths surrounding eggs and cholesterol. Health professionals will benefit from a dedicated section containing in-depth information on health, nutrition and diet; whilst schools, teachers and students will find a host of valuable resources. British Egg Industry Council Chairman, Andrew Parker, said: "The new British Lion eggs website provides a valuable resource for consumers, journalists and the egg industry. The re-launch follows research into user requirements, and we hope the design and content will make this the destination site for everyone looking for information on eggs."
