Abstract
Action Against Hunger is calling on chefs and restaurateurs across the country to help turn a nation of foodies into fundraisers with the launch of their 2013 Love Food Give Food appeal.

From Michelin-starred restaurants to pubs and cafes, your participation will help raise essential life-saving funds for the millions of families around the world who struggle to find enough to eat.

The appeal runs throughout September and October and getting involved couldn’t be easier – businesses can do anything from donating a percentage of sales from a chosen dish to hosting a one-off event or simply asking diners to make a £1 donation when paying the bill.

A whole host of restaurants, pubs and cafes have already signed up to support the appeal including Gidleigh Park, Dinner by Heston Blumenthal, Hawksmoor, Polpo and The Truscott Arms. Further endorsement is coming from the likes of Atul Kochhar, Vivek Singh, Raymond Blanc and Marcus Wareing.

Among those supporting Love Food Give Food with unique initiatives are Benito’s Hat who will raise funds by creating the world’s largest Burrito on World Food Day (October 16th) and Square Pie who are holding an ‘Office Pie-Drive’, adding a £1 donation to each delivery they make in October.

Rallying the troops, Hawksmoor’s Huw Gott said: “I am lucky enough to spend my life around food and drink and to make a living out of what I love, so it feels really appropriate for me to support their work. The restaurant industry should make an effort to support causes that help those around the world who do not have enough to eat. If you have a restaurant and are able to support such a great cause as Action Against Hunger then please do get involved in September and October.”
