Abstract
Fresh and liquid egg supplier Noble Foods is launching its first egg brand in the foodservice market called The Great British Egg Co.

The Great British Egg Co. will create a brand for its products that have been designed for the needs of operations across the foodservice industry.

Products under the Great British Egg Co. brand include egg bites, poached eggs, gluten-free Yorkshire puddings, scrambled egg burgers as well as scrambled egg pots. The scrambled egg burger was created for people who needed a reduced salt burger solution for the education sector.

Steve Hall, business unit controller at Noble Foods’ innovation division, said: “As consumer habits have evolved, there’s been a thirst for new, healthier products that are convenient and easy for operators to use as part of our menus.

“We’ve seen a definite shift in the market and as a result we wanted to signpost the breadth of service and support we can offer. We are able to bring solutions to the market that offer convenience and value while meeting consumer demand for healthier menu items.

“A great example of this solutions-based innovation is the introduction of egg bites. Eggs offer great nutritional value but kids notoriously under-index when it comes to choosing and consuming dishes. The format is easy to prepare and children have thoroughly enjoyed them, not realising that it is an egg product.”

Hall is aiming to create ‘pioneering products’ for all out of home sectors that offer nutritional benefit. Most of the products can be prepared in minutes by catering teams.

Noble Foods was the first company to launch free-range eggs in the UK and all of their product range conforms to the British Lion Standard, guaranteeing the highest animal welfare standards.
