Abstract
The Sustainable Restaurant Association (SRA) has launched a new supplier programme, which contract caterer Bartlett Mitchell has enforced, ensuring sustainable suppliers get ahead.

By completing the SRA’s Supplier Approval Assessment, companies are able to highlight their sustainability credentials as a point of difference when competing for businesses. In addition, the SRA’s online Supplier Directory has now been completely redeveloped to feature categorised filters and mapped locations, making it as easy as possible for hospitality businesses to find local options.

Sally Grimes, quality mentor for Bartlett Mitchell, said: "Sourcing new suppliers of local produce that meet the necessary due diligence and quality standards can take a long time to achieve. From a procurement perspective, the SRA has really helped.

“They have an ever-expanding list of suppliers who are SRA-approved so by using them you are also helping your own sustainability credentials. We now specify that all new suppliers to Bartlett Mitchell must be SRA-approved.”

The SRA is a national, not-for-profit membership organisation providing foodservice businesses with sustainability advice.
