On October 11th at the Hilton Stoke-on-Trent, the Autumn Seminar will also provide best-practice case studies, training advice and the opportunity to network with colleagues from around the country.
Following on from a successful Main Event, LACA will aim to deliver updates, workshop-style learning and insight designed to help members in their roles at this critical time.
It includes a welcome from new LACA Chair Brad Pearce, who will give a brief update on policy and activity and set out the aims of the day.
School Chef of the Year 2022 Tom Armstrong will speak about his experience in this year’s competition and encourage members to consider entering the 2023 competition. Tom, who is chef manager at Shelley College in Huddersfield and works for Mellors Catering Services, won the title in the SCOTY final held at the Main Event in July.
Nigel Argyle of Elygra Marketing will talk about the themes, events and support available for members to help them take part in this year’s National School Meals Week from November 7-11.
Delegates at will also hear from Michael Slater of Highfield College, who will talk about T-Levels and student engagement/employment.
Another session will be devoted to staff wellbeing, while the Foodservice Consultants Society International (FCSI) will be on hand to provide top tips for reducing energy bills in school kitchens.
Seminar sponsors will also get their chance to showcase products to delegates as part of a full day of activities that is scheduled to run from 10am until 4pm.
