Abstract
LACA has announced the 2021 School Chef of the Year (SCOTY) competition schedule that will see 11 school chefs cook for the national title and the £1,000 prize money.

The nine regional winners and the two wildcard entrants will cook over the course of the two days at the LACA Main Event, which is taking place at the Birmingham Hilton Metropole.

Organised by the LACA and sponsored this year by Quorn Professionals, School Chef of the Year is the education catering sector’s premier culinary skills competition.

Competitors have 75 minutes to prepare, cook and present four portions each of a two course imaginative meal suitable for serving en masse to 11-year-olds in primary or secondary schools. They must include Quorn as the protein element of the main course together with a dessert based on 50% fruit content.

The SCOTY competition aims are to show the high quality of school meals and the contribution they make to the health and wellbeing of their children and their physical and educational attainment.
