The significance of this anniversary is deeply personal for many employees, as they still have family members who contributed to the war efforts of World War II. It is with great reverence and gratitude that LACA joins hands with Nourish to commemorate this pivotal moment in history.
Anita Brown, chair of LACA, said: “We are delighted to be able to team up with Nourish and one of their schools to commemorate such an important occasion. We all reap the benefits of what our ancestors sacrificed, and this marks a very special occasion.”
The event, which is by invitation only, will feature a series of meaningful activities, including a special assembly led by LACA national chair Anita Brown aimed at educating and inspiring attendees about the significance of D-Day.
LACA ambassador Mark Sargeant will also host a Chef’s Table event, offering a culinary journey inspired by the wartime era. Additionally, attendees can look forward to music from and inspired by the 1940s, evoking the spirit of solidarity and resilience that characterised the era.
As a final mark of respect, representatives of the RNLI (Royal National Lifeboat Institution) will release a wreath at the harbour in Folkestone, symbolising our enduring gratitude to those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
