Abstract
As the school food sector starts to ‘get back on track’ after the Covid-19 pandemic, this year’s LACA Main Event (6-8 July 2022) will explore the future of our service with in-depth sessions on sustainability, technology and allergens.

Back on TrackLACA Live returns for 2022, with cookery demonstrations sessions focussing on local and sustainable produce taking place in the Monarch Suite on 6-7 July.

The workshop sessions also return with Angela Tregear of the University of Edinburgh Business School updating attendees about the carbon calculator with other workshops focusing on energy efficient kit, team wellbeing and sustainable sourcing.

The LACA Forum will be opened by LACA chair Jacquie Blake and followed by a session on school food as the ninth lesson of the day. LACA will welcome exemplar schools to the Main Event to share their holistic approach to school food.

On the second day of the Main Event, Tom Heap will deliver a keynote speech on 39 ways to save the planet and we will discover the winners of the 2022 Finishing Touches competition.

Following on from their ‘deeply moving and impactful speech’ at the Main Event 2021, Tanya and Nadim Ednan-Laperouse OBE return to update attendees on the impact of Natasha Law to date and to discuss the next steps in creating a world that is safe for all allergy sufferers.

On Friday 8 July David Foad, editor of School Caterer and PSC Magazine, will interview the winner of the School Chef of the Year 2022 competition and the latest School Food Research will be unveiled.
