Abstract
Celebrity chef Jean-Christophe Novelli will be launching the first Haworth Fine Food Festival this summer.
The two-day event, which is to be held at Central Park on 1-2 August in Haworth, will include cooking demonstrations by Jean-Christophe and 50 stalls under a giant marquee selling specialist quality produce from around Yorkshire to celebrate Yorkshire Day on Saturday 1 August. Novelli will be taking centre stage on Saturday 1 August where he will showcase three different cookery demos. Tickets for the performances go on sale today (29 June) and cost £3 and are available from Haworth, Ilkley and Bradford Tourist Information Centres or by calling 01535 642329 (booking fees apply). Demonstrations will take place at 10.20am, 12.20pm and 2.20pm. There will be a 10 minute introduction and a 15 minute book signing after each demonstration. Coun Adrian Naylor, Bradford Council's executive member for regeneration, said: "This event is set to be a real success following on from Bingley Fine Food Festival which saw thousands of people visit the town over the two days. "Haworth has so much to offer visitors and this festival will be a great addition to the events calendar. I am sure Jean-Christophe will be a real attraction and the market will offer a treat for everyone."
