Abstract
Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt has warned that restaurants, cafes and pubs will be named and shamed unless they make food portions smaller or less sweet, according to The Times.
Speaking at a private meeting of more than 100 food companies, The Times reports that Hunt said chains such as PizzaExpress, Starbucks and McDonald’s need to ‘step up’ by cutting sugar from food as going out to eat is no longer a treat and has become a regular habit.
Hunt is reported to have said that more than a fifth of sugar intake came outside the home and a quarter of families took children to fast food outlets each week.
