Hellmann’s launches Britain’s Best Burger competition
Abstract
Entries are now open for the Britain’s Best Burger competition, which is sponsored by Hellmann’s.

The competition is open to all venues serving burgers and the winning venue will receive £10,000 of PR support and six regional winners will win £2,500 worth of PR.

Rhodri Morgan, marketing manager at Unilever Food Solutions, said: “Burgers remain the number one item on menus – but there are burgers and there are burgers.

“We want to find Britain’s best. Consumers have already had their say about what goes in their ‘ultimate’ burger, and now we want to know what operators have to offer.

“There are lots of great burgers being served out there. We want to recognise those places doing something special. Whether it’s perfectly cooked wagyu beef, speciality mayonnaise, or twice-baked brioche buns, we want to give them the fame they deserve.”

Hellmann’s commissioned research to find out what consumers think makes the ultimate burger and 47% said they want either mayonnaise or garlic mayonnaise, compared to 45% wanting ketchup.
