Abstract
A Golden Ball event, held in Glasgow's Grand Central Hotel last Thursday, has raised over £20,000 for the Hospitality Industry Trust (HIT) Scotland.
Around 300 guests from across the hospitality industry teamed up to raise money for HIT Scotland. They were served up a specially prepared menu by the Grand Central hotel's executive chef, James Murphy, with desert provided by Gleneagles hotel.
All money raised from the event supports the HIT Scotland Scholarship programme. This year HIT Scotland is looking to award around 100 scholarships to students and talented people at all levels in the industry at the Emerging Talent conference in February.
Stephen Murphy, chair of the event committee, said: "The evening was a huge success. By braving the wintery conditions the guests showed how much passion Scotland has for hospitality industry."
