GH Event Catering appoints new planning director

East Lothian-based GH Event Catering has appointed Ian Muckett to the newly created role of planning director as the company aims to double its turnover in the next financial year.

The company says that the new position has been created to build on the success of the last two financial years. Ian Muckett’s appointment will see him take up sales, planning and account management responsibilities.

Muckett said: “I am truly excited about my role and supporting the GH team in their ambitious plans for continued growth. They’re a highly talented and fully committed team, which deliver first-class catering, event and venue management. 

“I have a proven track record for increasing revenue and profitability and this is what I am progressing at GH with my extensive skills and experience. ”

Ian has experience in the hospitality industry at events such as The Queen’s Royal Garden Party at Holyrood Palace, as well as the management and development of the Dunglass Estate in East Lothian, which GH Event Catering assumed sole management of last year under a ten-year lease agreement.

GH Event Catering’s managing director Brian Galbraith added: “We welcome Ian, a highly experienced, driven professional to our ever increasing team, to help grow the business. 

“We are continuing to attract high calibre employees like Ian into the company, with a total of five senior appointments made in the last 18-months. One additional senior role will be taken on this year, bringing our core staff to 22.

“These appointments are in part, due to a number of significant new contract wins, including becoming the sole operator of Dunglass Estate in East Lothian.”
