Abstract
The Food Standards Agency (FSA) is warning food business operators about bogus emails that appear to be a financial scam to extort money from companies wishing to export rice to the UK.
The emails are using the FSA Scotland name as a basis for the submission of information and demand payment of £650 for a registration fee. The Agency is warning food business operators that if they receive any such emails claiming to be associated with the Agency they should not send the money and instead report the email to foodfraud@foodstandards.gsi.gov.uk. To view the copy of the bogus email visit the Food Standards Agency website www.food.gov.uk
