Abstract
The Food and Drink Federation (FDF) has appointed Terry Jones as its new director of communications.
Jones is currently director of corporate affairs at the National Farmers' Union (NFU) where he has worked for nine years. He has extensive experience in communications, public affairs and public relations.
Jones will be responsible for media relations, the health and well-being agenda, IT and new media and public affairs. He takes over from Julian Hunt, who leaves the organisation in February to join Coca Cola Enterprises GB as vice president for Public Affairs and Communications.
FDF director general Melanie Leech said: "I am delighted to welcome Terry to the FDF team. Terry joins us at an exciting time when the contribution of the food and drink industry to the UK's economic recovery is increasingly being recognised. His skills and experience working within the food chain make him ideally suited to help FDF continue to champion the vital contribution of our sector."
Jones added: "I have always enjoyed working with FDF, admiring the professionalism of its staff and the results it achieves on behalf of its members. I am therefore very pleased to be joining FDF and relish the opportunity of working for businesses in the next link of the food chain."
