Abstract
X Factor finalists Same Difference have joined the British Lion eggs' campaign aimed at getting kids in the kitchen.
The Eggs Factor cooking competition encourages children between the ages of seven and 11 to come up with their favourite egg recipe and join one of 12 cook-offs being held around the UK during June. Children will be asked to devise a recipe for their favourite character or celebrity. Winners from each cook-off will be invited to cook their signature dish for judges Same Difference and children's cookbook author Annabel Karmel at the final in London on July 6. The Eggs Factor champion will be treated to a special culinary weekend in London, including a visit to a research kitchen with Annabel Karmel and dinner at the Rainforest Café. The winning recipe will also be published in one of Annabel Karmel's forthcoming cookbooks. Andrew Parker, Chairman of the British Egg Industry Council, said: "We're very excited that Same Difference have agreed to judge the competition. We want to encourage healthy eating habits in children from an early age, and hopefully Sarah and Sean can help us do this. Cooking quick, easy meals with eggs is the perfect way to introduce kitchen skills, and we look forward to seeing what these young chefs will create." Entries can be made by visiting www.crackingeggs.co.uk Entry to the competition closes May 5.
