The role will involve Hughes in a number of initiatives and cookery competitions in Edwards & Blake’s 160+ primary and secondary schools to promote healthy eating and encourage and enhance student’s cooking skills.
The activity will culminate in an opportunity for a number of students and their families to hone their cooking skills at the Richard Hughes Cookery School at The Assembly House in Norwich.
Hughes said: “I am delighted to be working with Edwards & Blake. Their ethos of home-cooked, freshly-prepared, locally-sourced food resonates with the culture in my cookery school and restaurants. It is vital that young people are given the knowledge and skills to cook and eat well into adulthood. Once learnt it is never forgotten. I can’t wait to be involved!”
Vince Pearson, chairman of Edwards & Blake, added: “It’s a privilege to be partnering with Richard. He is a highly respected and innovative chef who inspires both his cookery students and his restaurant clients with his talent and passion. We are thrilled that he will bring his passion and enthusiasm directly to our pupils and students and enhance their knowledge and skills of good food and great cooking."
