Abstract
The Association of Catering Excellence is urging a team of industry professionals to take part in its Dragons' Den event before the 10 June closing date.
The event provides an opportunity for teams of two to pitch their idea to a team of industry 'dragons'.
The team with the best pitch wins a five day 'Kitchen and Restaurant Management in the 21st Century' course at the Emirates Academy in Dubai which will include dining experiences in the best of the Jumeirah operations.
The brief is to develop a commemorative product for the London 2012 Olympics that represents the United Kingdom but appeals to the International market. The product should have the potential to become the 'must have' memento, accessory or food or drink product of the 2012 Games.
Teams must present their ideas which should be investable, commercial and innovative. The dragons will be looking for a well executed, engaging pitch that demonstrates a clearly researched product or service.
Following written applications, a shortlist of six teams will be invited to attend the ACE Dragons' Den event at the BMA in Tavistock Square, London on Wednesday 13th July 2011 where they will present their ideas.
The event includes a Supplier Showcase and a British Street Food Evening with buffet and drinks in the Courtyard of the Grade II listed setting of the BMA House, home of the British Medical Association. This is an opportunity to network and socialise with catering industry professionals in the heart of London.
Tickets for the event are £60 +VAT for ACE members or £75 +VAT for non-members. There is free entry for participating teams of two.
Deadline for entries is Friday 10th June 2011. For entry forms and more details, contact Louise Willis on 01483 765111 or email admin@acegb.org.
