Dr Amir Khan to highlight importance of good nutrition in children’s diet at LACA Main Event

GP and author Dr Amir Khan will host a keynote session at the LACA Main Event that focuses on the importance of good nutrition in children’s diets and the impact on other public health bodies including the NHS.

The keynote address will take place at 3.45pm on Thursday 4th July. To listen to Dr Amir Khan you will need to be a delegate of the LACA Main Event, which is taking place at the Birmingham Metropole.

Amir is the resident doctor for ITV's Lorraine & Good Morning Britain and hosts Dr Amir’s Sugar Crash (Channel 5) and You Are What You Eat (with Trisha Goddard, Channel 5). His charisma and expertise won the hearts of the nation following his original role in GP’s Behind Closed Doors (Channel 5).

Other TV credits include hosting the Science of Sleep (Channel 5) with Gaby Roslin, hosting How to Lose a Stone in a Month (Channel 5) with Ruth Langsford, hosting The Great British Urine Test (Channel 5) with Dr Christian Jessen, ITV Tonight show, BBC Breakfast, ITV This Morning, Sky News.

Other speakers on the delegate programme include national chair Anita Brown, LACA ambassador Mark Sargeant, Dr Michael Mosley, Stephanie Hall from Chartwells, immediate past chair of LACA Brad Pearce, vice chair elect Judith Gregory and John Douch.


Running alongside the LACA Main Event, is the LACA School Food Show, a free-to-attend exhibition where school catering providers can source new ideas and innovations and compare a range of suppliers under one roof.  Over 160 exhibitors will showcase food and beverages, equipment, systems and services on 3rd and 4th July.
