Abstract
The director of Arena, Lorraine Wood, is hosting an X Factor-themed fundraising later this month to help raise funds for The Springboard Charity Great Wall of China Trek.
Wood is one of many colleagues in the hospitality industry to don her walking boots in March and take part in the seven day trek in aid of The Springboard Charity that helps young, unemployed and disadvantaged people to find rewarding careers in the hospitality, leisure and tourism sector.
The X-Factor event is searching for all budding Matt Cardle's, Leona Lewis' or even Jedwards of the hospitality industry to take part in the competition.
Wood says "entering the competition is not compulsory but having a good time and enjoying yourself is".
Tickets for the event, which takes place on 19 January at Westminster Kingsway College in London at 6.30pm, are priced at £25 each, with all proceeds going to The Springboard Charity.
The event includes a drinks reception, a Chinese meal courtesy of Sharwoods, disco, karaoke and cash bar. The X Factor competition will kick off at 9.00pm followed by a disco and karaoke.
Each person taking part in the China trek is challenged to raise a staggering £7,000 each. They will each walk around 12km every day.
For more information or to take part in the show contact Wood on 020 3087 2378 or email lorraine@arena.org.uk.
