Andy Harris, managing director of RA, said: “We’re really proud to support Kids Company. Having seen last Christmas what a huge difference our support made to families across London, it’s great to be able to donate our time and resources again this year.
“With food playing such a central part of Christmas festivities, giving ingredients and eco-friendly disposables seemed the perfect way of showing our support and our hamper packing day on December 6th provides all the team with a great opportunity to show their support for such a worthwhile cause.”
Camila Batmanghelidjh, founder of Kids Company, said: “Our most vulnerable children dread the Christmas period; they fear violence, hunger and loneliness.
“This year, Restaurant Associates has been our saviours once again. We receive lots of food donations but nowhere near the levels we need to feed everyone who relies on us at Christmas.
“Thankfully, RA has been inspiring, providing the food to help us lay on a miraculous festive feast for all our children as well as helping those who can’t get to us on Christmas Day. We couldn't do this without their kindness. Thank you again.”
Every year Kids Company creates a magical Christmas Day for thousands of children who would otherwise go without. This year’s party will see around 4,000 children enjoy hot food, individually wrapped presents, a Santa’s Grotto, storytelling and games.
Children can make hats and puppets, create a Christmas mural or join in fun activities all developed to make this an unforgettable Christmas.
For the second year, RA is providing the ingredients to make meals for these children on Christmas Day along with eco-friendly compostable disposables.
