Abstract
Last week (8 March) saw Cityserve and five local West Midlands schools partake in homeless charity, St Basils, Soup Week - raising over £100 to help “break the ‘cycle of homelessness.’”
Having spent the morning in CityKitchen preparing a “variety of fresh breads and a vegetable and tomato and basil soup,” the students then served their creations to Cityserve head office staff and St Basils’ fundraising officer, Anne Morton.
Participating schools inclided: five students from Hive College; Calshot Primary School; Ark Kings and Ark Rose; Hawthorn Primary School and Yew Tree Community School.
Together with Cityserve head office, they raised over £100 in donations for St Basils which will go towards helping “16-25 people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness across the West Midlands.”
