Abstract
Catering company, Wilson Vale, has strengthened its operation team with the promotion and appointment of two former chef managers.

Steve Evans, chef manager at Hill House School in Doncaster, a Wilson Vale establishment and David Anderson, a chef manager at Lusso, part of CH&Co, have joined the Wilson Vale team as area managers.

Andrew Wilson, co-founder and managing director of Wilson Vale, said: “One of the most important drivers of employee engagement and job satisfaction within Wilson Vale is the development of people’s skills.

“We place great emphasis on supporting staff’s goals and aspirations and promote from within, whenever possible. By growing our talent, we ensure happy, well-motivated teams who remain loyal to the business and grow with it.”

All of Wilson Vale’s operational team come from a craft backgroud, with Evans starting his career as a commis chef at Bradford’s Michelin-starred, Restaurant 19, before going on to hold various roles, including executive head chef with Sodexo.

Anderson, new to Wilson Vale, now looks after a portfolio of Wilson Vale clients in London, Leicester and Cambridge.

The two new appointments bring the operational team to nine, who collectively manage Wilson Vale’s 75 diverse clients nationwide.

Wilson added: “A unique facet of our business is that we have created a hi-bred role of development chef/area manager. All of our operational managers have the craft skills to step into the kitchen when required.

“They understand the challenges facing our brigades and work with them on a daily basis to ensure that our food and service standards remain high.”

Wilson Vale, established in 2002 by Andrew Wilson and Carolyne Vale, work closely within the conferencing, B&I and education sectors to provide a niche catering service.
