Abstract
Michael Stephenson, chairman of Stephensons catering equipment suppliers, has stepped down from his role following 41 years leading the family business.
Stephenson has handed the reins to his son Henry Stephenson, who has been working for the family-run business for six years – most recently in the role of marketing director. Henry will be the sixth Stephenson across five generations to hold the managing director position at the Stockport company, which has been serving businesses throughout the UK since 1868. Michael Stephenson, who first worked for the family company in 1963 and took on the role of managing director in 1970, said: "It is quite a sad time to be relinquishing my duties after all these years, but I am sure that Henry will do a great job with the business." Newly appointed managing director, Henry Stephenson said: "I am delighted to have been appointed as the new managing director. It is a great responsibility. We have a fantastic team at Stephensons and I'm looking forward to building on our successes and continuing to grow as a business." Other promotions include current sales director, Julian Lewis-Booth, taking on the additional role of company secretary; Laura Shervin will move from cash & carry manager to head of online and Aaron Letch will become the new cash & carry manager following his previous role as customer service manager.
