Caterer Houston & Hawkes celebrates B Corp Month
Abstract
Houston & Hawkes is marking B Corp Month this March with a series of activations designed to engage teams, customers and partners while reinforcing its commitment to purpose-driven business practices.

A core focus of the month-long campaign is ethical sourcing. In 2024, 48% of Houston & Hawkes’ total spend went to SMEs, diverse suppliers and social enterprises including fellow B Corps.

To raise awareness of the B Corp movement, Houston & Hawkes is introducing QR code activations across its locations linking to informative content. All locations will actively participate in Food Waste Action Week. Initiatives will include:

  • Zero-waste specials: crafted from commonly discarded ingredients to showcase creative ways to repurpose food.
  • Live chef demonstrations: teaching smart preparation techniques to maximise ingredient use and reduce waste in kitchens.
  • Food donations: ensuring surplus food supports local charities and community initiatives instead of going to waste.

Houston & Hawkes became the first and only Certified B Corp contract catering business in the UK in June 2022.

James Carr, head of ESG & safety at Houston & Hawkes, said: “This month is a fantastic opportunity to bring our B Corp commitments to life in a way that is both visible and engaging.

“We want our teams, customers, and partners to not only understand what we do, but why we do it. By embedding sustainability, ethical sourcing, and community engagement into everything we offer, we’re reinforcing our purpose as a responsible caterer.”
