Abstract
The British Culinary Federation's 13th Young Chef of the Year competition will be held at University College Birmingham on November 1.
Sponsored by Electrolux Professional and supported by Villeroy & Boch, the competition offers young chefs the opportunity to demonstrate their culinary skills and talent, and win some fabulous prizes.
First prize includes the David Bache Trophy, £150, visits to Electrolux' innovation centre in Italy and to Villeroy & Boch in Luxembourg, and chef's knives worth £160. Second and third prizes are £100 and £50 respectively, plus a trip to Electrolux' innovation centre in Italy, and chef's knives worth £160.
All finalists will receive a personalised chef's jacket, framed certificate, commemorative plate sponsored by Villeroy & Boch and two tickets to the awards dinner at University College Birmingham.
Recent winners include: Ben Ternent, Opus Restaurant, Birmingham; Daniel Morris, Michelin starred The Elephant Restaurant, Torquay; Micheal Dipple, The Forest Hotel, Dorridge; and Helen Evans, Michelin starred Simpsons, Edgbaston.
