Abstract
Celebrity Italian chef Aldo Zilli and Italian restaurant group Prezzo are launching a nationwide search to find a 'Super Chef'.
The competition is open to any member of the public who thinks they have what it takes to produce a pasta dish to impress Zilli and Prezzo executive chef, Paul Lewis.
The prize up for grabs is a place on the Prezzo menu for the winning dish, plus a three day trip to Aldo Zilli's cookery school in the Abruzzo region of Italy and a one-to-one masterclass with Zilli in London.
Chefs can enter by sending in a recipe of their personally designed pasta dish, alongside a photo of them with their dish. Entrants will then be whittled down to regional winners, before being invited to London for the national final.
The chefs who make it to the national final will take part in a live 'cook-off', to be judged by Aldo Zilli, where they will need to reproduce their signature pasta dish and create a new dish from a selection of ingredients chosen by Zilli.
The competition will open on Monday 9th May and entrants will then have two weeks to send in their recipes and images via email to competitions@prezzorestaurants.co.uk
Zilli said: "The winner of this competition will have to create the perfect pasta dish. It could be an interpretation of a classic Italian recipe, like Spaghetti alla Carbonara, or something entirely new. The winning dish will have to have absolutely all elements correct from the ingredients, sauce and of course the pasta itself so that it both looks and tastes great."
Prezzo's chief executive officer, Jonathan Kaye added: "As well as being loyal customers, our Prezzo fans have many hidden talents and passions. Last year we discovered a fantastic live music act which resulted in a nationwide tour, and this year we're hoping to have as much fun and success finding a talented chef."
